Fighting Dragons
« on: December 15, 2007, 10:18:24 AM »
Great Kumite in the second class last Thursday.

Wow !

Since there weren't many people there, we did Juy Ippon Kumite all night ! Kids also fought us adults (No holds barred)

Some fights were awesome...

Emma Hughes. What a fighter, she was awesome..A future "Siwan" maybe ?  I hope so..
Stephen Nesbitt... Lovely quick and deadly Mae ashi Mawashi  off the right leg...
Thomas Newman... Had to fight everybody, good spitit, kept fighting all the way through..strong lad.
Ben...Little dragon as ever
Cally... another one to watch...plenty of guts.

Cryf oedd calon hen y glas glogwyni,
Cryfach oedd ei ebill ef a'i ddur,
Chwyddodd gyfoeth gwr yr aur a'r faenol,
O'i enillion prin a'i amal gur.

I can't remember - is that the one that pretty much "opens" with a Haito Jodan strike which (despite being illegal as far as I know) is scored ?

 1 - timing is excellent
2 - Commitment to attack is awesome
3 - Gyaku Tsuki is a *very* fast & effective technique, if done correctly

And it'll all happen again

I've watched the ladies kumite about 10 times after each other, as Lloydie said I like the way that they're committed to every attack and not prepared to give up.
The men kumite is amazing as well. :P
The more you sweat in training the less you bleed in battle,a fool says I can't, a wise man says I'll try.
