Who are you? Please introduce yourself. It is good manners to introduce yourself.
Resurrecting an old thread here folks.
Why don't you newbie's join in the fun, pick an avatar and tell us a little something about yourself?


This is me...I'm Moley

My avatar is Moley in a Karategi.  I drew the avatar on a piece of paper and scanned it.
I kinda like Japanese swords and cut a lot of straw mats with them. I have a large collection.
Later on Huw added the Katana (Sword) to the picture and I was given the Rank of "Blind Swordsman" after the Zatoichi film.

So who are you and what's the story behind your "avatar" ?

My avatar is a Rider of Rohan from "The Lord of the Rings"
This was conferred upon me by The Blind Swordsman, for riding to his rescue one day when he was in intense pain.

I've also got a T Shirt which Pioden made as a gift for my 50th birthday, which features me as Theoden

 The reason I have Miss Piggy is that i love pigs i have pigs all around my house,I have had to stop collecting them as i have no room now, I even have a picture of a pig  on the wall in the toilet. I would love a poster of Miss Piggy to put in there as well.

You will see Dragonfly under my name, I have a tattoo of a dragonfly on my back, Dragonflies are very mystical, they also mean something in  Japanese mythology, you will have to ask Moley to explain what it is.

Hi all

I'm one of the newbies, only 10 months a Seki, enjoying every minute. I joined after taking my son there and sitting on the bench for three lessons, what a waste I said, and here I am.
The B&D is curtesy of Mr Moley during the adult xmas party. due to my interest in DIY.
The avatar is a mean smiley with the colour of my karate belt.

Been a Seki since January 2003 and enjoy it very much, both the training and the social network around the club. Excellent way of making really good friends.

Nickname...mm yes. For some reason it is 'Boots'. You will have to ask Pioden and Moley exactly why, but it is the cat from Shrek.

The avatar came along by accident as I wanted to replace my old avatar with something new. I can see the mountains from my house and the image seemed to fit into the forum... and I liked it...

My Avatar ? - just one I pinched from another forum a long time agao since it reminds me of how flexible I used to be  8)

Rank ? - Don't have one - probably should be Jester or Joker though.......

Hi I'm Emma I started karate in April(I think)2006,but back then I only used to come 2 training one hour a week,now I come 4 hours a week  which proves that I am ADDICTED!I've chosen a picture of someone running as my avatar, 2 show that I am very active and love sports.I'm not that keen on running really but I force my self to do it anyway to improve my fitness so hopefully it'll be worth it in the end!

Hi I am Benlittledragon I Joined the Seki Ryu Zan Club in 2003 and now I am a 1st Dan and I have loved every Second of it. My Avitar is a little Dragon like me.

Hi im Alex, also known as Cheung. I started karate ages and ages ago. My avatar is Raphael from the Ninja Turtles.
I am really into weapons and did a nunchukka demonstration at the Gwynedd Budo Sai Demo. I also have a three section staff and Sai.
One night I took my Sai down to the club. The following day Azzy put the Turtle avatar on the forum.
I have several nickanes, "Lil Cheung", "Young Cheung", "Cheungy"  etc.
I hope to pass my test with the car soon but saving up for the insurance is difficult.

The signatures at the bottom of my postings are two quotes that I like; the one in Japanese is from Kawasoe Sensei, and it is about how to kick.  I’ll let you work it out for yourself.  :wink:

Seeing as it is only polite to introduce yourself, which I think is very true. I thought I would so I wasn't seen to be rude on the forum.

I am Robin though the abbreviation of Rob I allow by friends!

My Avatar - (clearly seen) Bruce Lee.
The explanation for him as my avatar really comes down to the simple fact that I believe that he was a brilliant master at studying the arts of all martial and fighting practices. And so, was one of my biggest inspirations to learn and study martial arts. As I may have told everyone, from a very young age I have studied some form of martial/fighting art. Keeping this short, when I arrived at the university of bangor back in September 2008, It just so happened that to stumble upon a local and renown karate club has continued my studies of a martial art to this present day.  

Rank- ? I am uncertain of? so I can't really explain that.

And lastly, the quote at the end of my posting is a small section of one of Bruce Lee's famous one, which I consider very true to a number of martial arts.
