THERE WAS A KARATEKA WHO VISITED RYU ZAN
WHO THOUGHT HE WAS A FIGHTING MAN
WHEN CONFRONTED WITH GWYN
AND HIS 'DRYGIONUS' GRIN
HE SOON FELT THE SPIRIT OF JAPAN

WHO WAS RENOWNED FOR HIS INSTINCT TO KILL
HIS NAME WAS LLOYD
 FISTS  HARD TO AVOID
BUT LAUGHED AS IF FED ON TRILL

I like Haiku :
Haiku poetry has strict construction rules. Each poem has only three lines, 17 syllables: five syllables in the first line, seven in the second and five in the third.

Seki Ryu Zan
The students help each other
We all study the Way.

This is a good plan.

Sometimes it is hard
For the body and the mind
This is Karate.

The journey is long
Some have been this way before
We are all pilgrims.

We do not hurry
It is the journey that counts
May it never end.

very nice poem, however, you seem to have missed something:-

1  the thread is for limerics
2  in no way was the poem or Haiku insulting to anyone
3  it did not cause Dave Ll. to splatter his wine over his keyboard

Some Seki they thought it was "cool",
To go to a Comp in Blackpool.
As the ref shouted "Fights"
"I thought it was lights...
..That we came here to see!"  said one fool.

On a quest the seki went to 'pool
not one contestant felt a fool
in they all went
out they all fell
the yudansha,laughed,oh so cruel
