In kumite a Karateka was heard
To say: "Right! Now my loins I'll gird"
"Then I'll splatter that Icy"
But his Oi-Tsuki was dicey
And Dawn ended up stuffing "Big Bird"

There was a young man call Big Bird
A karateka haven't you heard
Revenge he desired
A pic of Icy required
A notion oh so absurd

H, I will be very impressed if you can find a picture of me!

There is a babe magnet called Wes,
Who thinks he looks good in a vest,
His best mates a dope,
Who’s allergic to soap,
Together they’ll take on the best.
A friend is somebody you can call to help you move, a good friend is somebody you can call to help you move a body.

Dave, here's one for you....

We once had a student from hell,
Who left an intolerable smell,
His glasses were greasy,
They also smelt cheesy,
He no longer trains, can’t you tell.
A friend is somebody you can call to help you move, a good friend is somebody you can call to help you move a body.

Mole Bach, in a similar vein:

A karataka I knew, had the powers
From 10 yards downwind to wilt flowers
Another trick he would try
Was to always keep dry
When Giz threw him into the showers

I like Haiku :
Haiku poetry has strict construction rules. Each poem has only three lines, 17 syllables: five syllables in the first line, seven in the second and five in the third.

Haikus are used to communicate a timeless message often achieving a
wistful, yearning and powerful insight through extreme brevity
the essence of Zen......

Seki Haiku

Seki Ryu Zan
The students help each other
We all study the Way.

Those who know will teach
Those that do not know will learn
This is a good plan.

Sometimes it is hard
For the body and the mind
This is Karate.

The journey is long
Some have been this way before
We are all pilgrims.

We do not hurry
It is the journey that counts
May it never end.

Moley,

very nice poem, however, you seem to have missed something:-

1  the thread is for limerics
2  in no way was the poem or Haiku insulting to anyone
3  it did not cause Dave Ll. to splatter his wine over his keyboard

Some Seki they thought it was "cool",
To go to a Comp in Blackpool.
As the ref shouted "Fights"
"I thought it was lights...
..That we came here to see!"  said one fool.
