How about some reasoning behind each post of "my favourite"

The fist has to come as the most accessible, most subtle, easy to close distance and remain neutral, easily hidden..........

Good idea Andy,
also the fist is "always on hand"  :D :D :D
and we have trained to use it.

I like the katana because ever since I was a young kid, I used to love listening to and reading stories about famous swords through history. The sword has always had a status among warriors. Caledfwlch/Excaliber  Albion Sting  Anduril William Wallace's sword etc etc

Oh dear.............

Yes, definitely agree with the status of the sword.

I would like to have one on the wall, but would get even more pleasure from having a Bo or sword, knowing that I could apply it in use.

I will have to get an SA80!, but that doesnt come close to a Katana!

Depends on the range

...but then again a Katana doesn't jam regularly in adverse conditions.....

Na mate, you'd be better off with a M16a4.

Where did you work Shari?

and Jimmy may be right, on ghost recon etc, the sniper is my weapon of choice!

Wouldnt mind trying an M16 though Liam, after some training, on a range, under supervision.........do I need to carry on with the boring qualifiers!

with many firearm. The British SAS used to use the m16 as a
standard assault rifle, it beats the British sa80 by a big
shot in terms of reliability. By experience the ak47 beats
them both put together. not only is it cheaper but more
reliable and powerful. to top it off it can fire under
water (unlike the m16) the m16 usually more accurate but
not always. In a fight between two equally skilled soilders
I would put my cash on the man with the ak47 "

The AK47 is one of the most robust weapons ever made and it's the probably been the main weapon used in the majority of civil wars. It does however lose out considerable in terms of accuracy due to its recoil. It's also interesting to note that the AK47 actually means "Avtomat Kalashnikova model 1947", Kalashnikova being its inventor, and it was produced in 1947. The AK47 was primarily designed as an automatic machine gun and was fitted with a single shot selector as a secondary option. Which is the oppisite to the M16 and SA80 as these are primarily single shot rifles with a selector to enable full automatic fire.
