Alf Tupper..he used to have to run about 10 miles to get to the cup final on time, have a fish and chips supper..then go on to win the match ?? (Or was it a race ?  memory's going..must've been a race 'cos I remember him being called "The Tough of the track")

  ahhh yes - Alf Tupper, 10,000 metre man IIRC.  I remember him going for some prestigious event - maybe the Olympics? - and being subject to all sorts of dietary & nutritional training,  of course Alf -having followed this good advice - came in last in the pre-lims, until he went against the advice and took himself off to the local chippy, result?

I'll start.

I payed ? 50p? £1:00, a fortune then, to get a plastic wallet. a secret code :D and...........thats it, but I was so excited, how times have changed.
