I have xp pro to put on the computer

Have you already installed the xp pro on another PC? - It needs to contact MS or you will be stuck with a 30 day version. If the code has already been used then it will refuse the activation, (unless you tweak around a bit.). Corporate versions won't contact MS so the code can be used many times.........

Can you tell us the make and model of the laptop? If it has a SATA hard drive it's quite a bit more complex than a normal installation. Still easily 'do-able' - though you may require some help.

Do you mean if you want to reply to a specific part of a message that someone has posted on this forum?
If you do,you just need to click on insert quote by the message, you should see that the whole message comes up in your reply box.All you need to do then is delete the parts of the message you don't want, leaving {quote author=}at the beginning, the part of the message you want to reply to in the middle and {quote} at the end.
I hope that's what you meant because it was very hard thinking how to explain that!

thanks Emma, exactly what I wanted, so easy when someone tells you. I went down the route of trying to copy a part instead of deleting a part, what a prat i am #-o

Copying the part is also fine - you just need to click on the "quote" button and then paste the copied texy between the two quote delimeiters/tags  :)

Hint: - Try editing a message you've posted using the "quote" button instead of reply to see how the "quote" tags work...

...or see this link for how "bbcode" tags work....
