Does your right foot come of the ground as you're moving into the technique?Lloydie was explaining the first move at the end of the session last night, and I thought that he was saying that the right foot doesn't come off the ground, but after watching the 'Everybody MUST WATCH THIS'version I think I might have missunderstood.

nope - I don't think I said that the foot does not come off the ground - it has to in order to make the move.  What I was explaining - probably badly - was that the landing movement is ONE, i.e. it is not a "dud-dud" sound it is just "dud" as both feet land at the same time.

sorry if I confused you Emma.

Sorry Andy I didn't see your post until now!

How are you getting on with your Kata now Emma?
Some things are getting better(like the first move)some things are taking a bit more time...(like my hip position in the Tsukamiuke, the move just before the kick near the beginning,it took my ages to find the right name for that move btw!)But apart from that so far so good Very Happy

...for that move Emma - the "secret" is in the name of the hip position....and of course what you do with the rear foot.....
