I practice Kata before (almost) every training session when I get there early enough (which is almos all the time). I try to include most the Heian Kata at least every other time to encourage the lower grades by showiing them that the shouldn't be neglected after their grading use has "passed".

I practice my Tekui/Favourite Kata at home in sections - as well as in the Dojo before/after Class.

I practice a couple of kata by visualisation each night before trying to drop off to sleep  Embarassed

Currently working on Jion and Gojoshiho-Sho because I like them (and Nijushiho and Sochin for future Grading purposes)

Work (have private Dojo at YG)
Hall (I have a long hall, perfect for Gangaku)
Back garden sort of (don't have grass at the back, just 6m squared of patio for all others)
Used to (and will have again) Dojo at home (just converting garage into office, temp office in Dojo for now)

He chuckles like a little kid on cider. cool.

The reference to weddings was a bit of wild card, but you never can tell.

I can only find one sochin video, it doesnt show it very well

What kata (s) did Dave J do last weekend?

Didn't know that you's invented Tekki Moley - you must be EVEN older than I look ?  Laughing Shocked Laughing

Is Godan Grading Kata "your choice/Tekui" then Moley  - thought Sochin was one of the selection for Yondan ?

I bought a shed for this very reason last year, but the more you train, the bigger the area you seem to need, and the shed is just not big enough to do them justice. so last weekend, I was walking, and found a very queit corner just off a public footpath, and hey presto, there was me, in the corner of a feild, practising Heian Yondan, with my dog looking on at me thinking I had really lost it ! Laughing

The footpath was also great for practising my shuto's
