Dear Gwyn

I was saddened to hear of the death of Peter. Please accept my condolences
and best wishes for his family.
Regards
John Errington

Well said Gwyn and I concur
A heart felt  thank you to  Peter and his family for all the efforts
behind the scenes and the  joy  and laughter and teaching he brought to
make our development and experience in the karate world not just in
Wales  but to enable us to travel abroad and experience the big picture
he always told was out there and encouraged us to explore.
He undoubtedly made our experiences more fruitful and with his wicked
sense of humour  and laughter he brought to make each day that much
brighter .
"oss Pete....a genuine karateka......many thanks...........the blossom
always blooms & will always be there to seen and not forgotten.
BONES

Gwyn
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Peter Hughes.  Although I didn't
know him personally, I had many telephone conversations with him regarding
karate.
My thoughts are with his family and his many friends.
May he rest peacefully with his God.
Barbara Mumberson  WKGB

Hello old friend. That is very sad news indeed. I had heard from Sean that Pete had not been well for some time, but it is still a blow to hear he has passed away.
I will always remember Pete as a kindly caring soul who had time for everyone. Please convey my sincere regards to his family and friends from us all at Wick.
Oss Spike

Dear Gwyn
Please accept heartfelt condolences from my self and all at Saxon. Peter was a true gentleman and I will always appreciate his friendship not only on a personal level but for my students also. Please convey my sadness on such a devastating loss to Peters family. I also know that he will be greatly missed by all of you in Wales, When words make little sense and much less comfort, I would just like to say, I consider it an honour to have trained judged and socialised with Peter. When you are a little more settled please send me a write up in memory and a photo you see most fitting so we can pay our tribute through the Saxon international web site.  Take care Gwyn.
Best wishes, Leigh and all at Saxon.

Gwyn
I have just heard that Peter has passed away and am deeply saddened by the news. I would like to convey my sympathies to his family and was wondering if you have an address where I could send a card at least. If you think that would not be appropriate, I'd be grateful if you would pass on my feelings orally.
Thanks for your help in this matter,
Andy McAvoy Northern Ireland

Hi Gwyn
Sorry to hear the sad news , let me know when funeral is and I will send a wreath  from the Welsh Karate Governing Body ltd
Regards
Roger

Manon and myself would appreciate if people can bring any photos of Pete that you have to the gathering at Ty'n Llan, Llandwrog after the funeral.
The funeral will take place on May 26th at the Glanrhyd Chapel, Dinas, Llanwnda,at 215pm followed by the crematorium in Bangor at 340pm.
Thank you

Is it a private service for family or can others come to show their respect.

There will be limited parking at the Indian Restaurant "The Arman" (The old pub called "The Mount") nearby. But it would be a very good idea to share transport.

Dress Code:

I went to see Rhian and Manon today. Pete's wishes were that nobody wears black and that everyone wears bright colours at the funeral. I suggested that we wear WTKF uniform and they thought that was a good idea and that Pete would've liked that very much.

Diolch i bawb am y negeseuon clen.
I chi sydd ddim yn gwybod - fi ydi merch ieuengaf Pete Hughes.
Dyma rhywbeth sydd wedi fy helpu dros y dyddiau diwethaf:

Thanks to everyone for their kind messages.
For those who don't know - I'm Pete Hughes' youngest daughter.
Here's something that has helped me a lot in the past few days:

You can shed tears that he's gone
or you can smile because he lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
or you can be full of laughter and memories you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he's gone
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what he'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Cofiwch bobeth ddysgodd Dad i chi, cofiwch ei ysbryd, ac yn bennaf cofiwch ef.

Remember all Dad taught you, remember his spirit, and most of all remember him.

Manon.

Sensei Pete Hughes, a true ambassador of the karate family.
At the gradings, one of those people who just knows what to say when somebody is nervous
And what a laugh we had in Edinburgh 07.
Oss Pete, your sparkle will be sorely missed.

Sometimes I think..."I'll just pick up the phone to ask Pete about this or that"

You just don't realise how close you are to somebody till they're gone.
