Yep - the Kurtz stuff (briefly) involves a quick cardio warmup followed by static stretches which you hold and then whilst at maximum range of movemnet you perform an Isometric muscle contraction and hold and release - repeat a few times and then relax into the static strech again with slightly increased maximum natural miovement in the stretch.

He also stresses very heavily the importance of having suffucient muscular strengh first to enable the stretches to be hel properly and the overall importance of good core body strength.
