came across this quote from a friend of mine who is probably the best anglo-concetina player in the UK and likely top 10 in the world. Although he refers to Irish music, I thought that this was the best comment I have ever heard on how to do kata:
"If you play Irish music too fast, it can end up being incomprehensible. I spent the first twenty years of playing trying to get in as many notes as I could, and I've spent the last ten trying to take them back out again. Nine times out of ten it's not the note but the gap either side that makes it hit home."
Now doesn't THAT apply to kata?
