Got it back now and it's just like new!
Magic.
It was, apparently, riddled with all kinds of crazy viruses...
The tech guy was shocked I could use it as long as I did!!!

Have been doing ibanking for last 8yrs or so, recently I could not access one of the accounts, message saying to contact them direct, I did this yesturday and they said that it's because I have a trojan virus on my PC.  So I said "but I can open the other account" but they insisted.  They e-mailed me these to run, although my AVG scan shows nothing, ideas? I do'nt want to start installing anti-virus software off some geek in a bank.

"Trend Micro"-scan the PC-use "HouseCall"-use the "KERNEL"

the other one is
Kaspersky, this runs off a DOS window

Both Trend and Kaspersky are well recognised and reputable tools M-B - and Housecall I think is just an inline (web based) scanner.

It's not unusual to be asked to run alternbative scans if there's a suspected infection.

YOu could try downloading and running Avast! - the Trojan (if it exists) coulld be Spyware vs Virus basde and whilst most modern AV tools also detect Spyware it could be relatively new and being missed by your AVG - make sure AVG is fully up to to date and run at least one other scanner.

After Jimmy's advice, I got rid of AVG because it was slowing everything down.
I now have Avast like Jimmy recommended. It's very good ( I hope ?). It updates as soon as you go on line and an Computerised/American voice says.
"Virus database has been updated"

It's fast and easy to do a scan and it's free !
Can't remember the "SAFE" weblink I got it from...Jimmy ?
