Mr. GuyB,

It has been bought to my attention that you have displeased many senior grades by your comment that 'Seki is not a kicking club'. Mr Moley has reportedly taken your comments to heart tonight and caused great pain and suffering for the 'crocked' section of senior grades.

In recognition of this, your 'Ronin' ranking has been changed to reflect your current status.

Sincerely,

ADMIN (God's better looking and more powerful brother)

CLUNK!!!  Oh?  What was that? Was that the sound of a gauntlet hitting the floor in front of Huw?

Personally, I have to thank DMW 'cos the intense kick-fest really did my held-together-by-glucosamine-and-velcro knee the world of good.

Moley - that is not an invitation to do it every week

All of them !!! We started with maegeri, junzuki, gyakuzuki, kizami-maegeri step back shuto uke, kizami-maegeri, gyakuzuki. The starting combo then changed to yokogeri, uraken, gyakuzuki and so on.

It wasn't so much the combinations which caused problems but the intensity at which Moley ran both lessons. Young Erylsan, who was training by my side in the second hour, was threatening to introduce the class to a smoked haddock dinner he'd consumed for tea  :-00  :-00  :-00

Funny !
I was great after the Thursday lesson..even though I did all three sessions. Not too bad on Friday either.
But today (Saturday) Uh oh !  Wobbly legs and an ache in my left lower inside leg muscle.(About six inches above the knee)
Now why is this ? Why the two day delay ?
Can any Medic Seki out there explain.

Hope to be back on form by Monday night

Apparently the pain is a result of the tearing of muscle fibres, caused by activities where your muscles are forcefully contracted while they are lengthening i.e. moley's intense kicking exercises

The 2 day delay is because that is the average time it takes for the swelling to take place in and around a muscle.

That's what I've been told anyway  8-[

Ah that's why.
Thank You Rhys.
Now that I know what is wrong, I'll get to work on healing it PDQ.

Meditation tonight then ....No T.V.

Hmm.. apologies to those who suffered.. but I can't help feeling I've been attributed with a greater proportion of the blame than may be justified.

TBH I really enjoyed thursdays first session.. it was great for illustrating shortcomings in ones technique (balance and overall sloppiness in my case) and the repetetive nature of those dills is great for breathing, rythm and focus.

Me too. I enjoyed both sessions hugely. I think your right with the focus of the lessons - focusing on shortcomings in our techniques, breathing and fitness. I guess it's a good thing we don't do sessions like that ALL the time, but once in a while I really enjoy a mad session like that !!
