  how do i put photos on the forum, no geek speak plain english so i can understand please .

First you need a web account on a site to allow sharing photos that you upload to it - like Photobucket.com or Flickr.com - the you upload the pictures - photobucket is the easier of the two to share them from IMO.

Once you upload the pictures the site (photobucket) offers you predefined "tags" (or links) to share your images online - you then insert the tags/links in your post to make the image appear here - like this :-

Since changes to Server last week I notice that it is no longer possible to load thumbnails from my P.C. ?

Forgot to mention - you shoudl make sure you resize a copy of the picture before uploading to the web account - use simething like Irfanview (free)  - as ize of 700 or 800 pixels maximum on any sside should work fine for most people - and when you "save as" from Irfanview - set the max size to something like 300Kb...
