I was very shocked to receive news today that Ritchie Griffiths has died. An original member of the Seki Ryu Zan joining after the club was first re-formed, Ritchie quickly became one of the gang and was a member of the first Seki group to go on the Edinburgh Summer camp. Known for his dry humour and wit,Richie kept us all amused on many an away trip. Ritchie always took pride in his appearance and was fond of designer clothes and fast cars. Although very quiet he was also a really nice guy and a good friend. The story about how he walked back to campus from Edinburgh one night with Eurwyn is now a "Seki legend". They got lost and made it back just after breakfast having walked all night. Eurwyn went training, Ritchie went to bed.
Ossu, farewell Mr Griffiths we will miss you, but I'm sure Eryl will still be telling those stories about you Smile

This is terrible news , what a cool dude Richie was. I have many fond memories of having a few beers with Rich and chasing the elusive 'darlings'

Seems only the good die young....gutted.

I was 23 years old when I first met Richie during my biking days. I owned only jeans, T-shirts and a leather jacket which Richie found quite odd. This is sad news indeed.

Richie was a master of one-liners and could find the funny side in any situation.  His going for brunch has been a topic for some of us for the last 20 years.
Shocked and saddened by this news.

"Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the message board regarding my brother Richard. As you say, he was very private and the family never really got to know any of his friends so it's really nice to see that there are quite a few out there. I really appreciate your comments and anecdotes of your days together in Seki Ryu Zan as well as the photograph.
