20 minutes to be able to access my internet from start. I had to restart it, I always have to restart to get internt it will never do it on the first. my laptop is a sony vaio vgn-fw31zj, anybody else heard of this type of problem?

no, proper internet within the house, the computer says it doesn't  recognise the urn or url or something, when I re boot it 1 or twice it reads and i'm away, there is no issue with speed when it has recognised the address

Latest on my transfer to B.T. as another ISP

Last Thursday - connected but hub hadn't arrived
Last Friday Hub arrived - 200kb/s connection
Saturday - 250kb/s connection
Monday - 300kb/s connnection
Tuesday - 100kb/s connection
Wednesday - 80kb/s connection
Thursday - NO CONNECTION AT ALL
Friday (today) - STILL NO CONNECTION AT ALL
B.T. engineer (Mr Kelly...got to know him so well I now call him Joe) coming Saturday morning.

Fire up a DOS command window and post the output (text file) from "IPCONFIG/ALL > ipconfig.txt"

Also moake a note of the full error message you get when it fails.

Do this twice - the first just after you reboot and the second after it's working.

What kind of broadband modem do you use? Is it a USB thing attached to the computer?
