Just found out that my wireless router is not only transmitting my own broadband signal, but that B.T. have made my study a B.T. Fon and a B.T. Openzone "HOTSPOT". This means that they are using my equipment, my electricity and my bandwidth so that any Tom Dick or Harry passing can access Broadband. They never asked my permission to do this! apprently it's an opting out rather than an opting in deal and I would never have found out if not for Azzy connecting the Netgear.
With all the speed problem I'm experiencing I find this unbelievable that they put these two systems on my bandwidth. They say that if someone accesses them via my system, it would only use 0.5Mb...... That's all I bloody got you morons! Have you given them permission also to drive up my drive and pop in for a coffee ? Then there are security issues. Who the hell do they think they are?
Went to the BTFON site last night to opt out but the bloody thing is still on... They say it takes 48hours ! Why?
Will opting out of BTFON also get rid of Openzone ? How do I opt out of that one..Searched everywhere!
