contact during practice
« on: June 08, 2010, 07:41:29 AM »
Again, after last nights performance I am finding myself having to apologise yet again for aggressive contact during our kumite practice. To everyone that I made contact with that I shouldn’t have I am sorry. It is getting difficult for me to take part in this section because of this. I have practised on the makiwara and am happy with my distancing regarding this, but I use the same distancing with partner work and resulting in too many contacts. I understand that many in the club can hit back during their turn but this will not alter my distance. I start from quite far away but find myself going lower and still reaching the target, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Speaking as one who got it in the mouth from you last night.

NOTHING wrong with your control.

All you need is more of that Takushoku Target training excercise that we did.

If your opponent isn't injured then I'd say it's fine.

Nothing like a bit of pain to get your opponent fired up!

It's very rare that we see him, probably afraid he'll get well done.
