Hi all

Just to say I haven't disappeared - I've managed to get another rib injury/inflammatory episode. Is settling gradually but know from experience it's a bad idea to train until the pain goes. Hopefully back next week!

got another opinion on the pesky knee today.  No impact training at all for at least a month, including karate, strength/resistance training to build up supporting muscles, lots of stretching, more voltarol.

Bah!!!  I'll just have to keep hawking the knee around the specialists until they get it right and say "carry on training"  Very Happy Very Happy

Melen is the same Lloydie, out from any impact training until September and only cycling, swimming and cross trainer available for her.

I miss having you in the Dojo Lloydie  Sad
Have you thought about cycling? They say that it's a good rehabilitation exercise, and 'knee friendly' as long as you use the right technique.

Sorry Azz but on second thoughts maybe the bike is a bit risky,I'd say Mole Bach's idea would be much more benifical for you Lloydie Laughing

I was walking along with someone the other day, and they said "Can you hear that clicking noise?"; I stopped and said "no"...they said "It's stopped now"; we carried on a bit and she said "There it is again" I stopped and said "nope - I still can't hear anything"  It was a hoot!  Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

On the day of my Shodan grading, I was stretching before the 1st morning session started.  Sensei came over and asked how my knee was after my op on it (this is now my "good" knee BTW Smile  ) I said it was  OK-ish but still a bit wobbly.  Sensei Kawasoe then proceeded to move me into a sort of skiing position and gave me these exercises to do - bit hard to explain in writing - but Jeez!!! did it isolate the knee muscles and work them!!!  After about 20 of these my knees were screaming!  At this point Kawasoe Sensei said   "Ah..good, good, knee feel good?"
me: "Oss Sensei"
Kawasoe Sensei: "OK - you do 200 now"

 Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
