Good luck to Gizmo on Saturday, when he and 3 friends tackle the Snowdonia Charity Challenge for the charity REGAIN.

REGAIN is the only charitable organisation dedicated solely to improving the independence of individuals who have become paralysed as a result of a competitive sports injury.  REGAIN help provide them with the specialist equipment they need to enable them to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.

Gizmo & the team will be undertaking a humongous cycle ride from Llanberis to Rhyd Ddu (via the Nantlle Valley!), at Rhyd Ddu they will be running up and down Snowdon, then cycling to Llyn Gwynant to canoe through a challenging course, then  Shocked cycling back to Llanberis!

If you haven't yet sponsored the guys, then you can do so at :

dig deep peeps - it's a great cause

wow brilliant! I bet Gizmo was leading all the way through giving the lads some encouragement to keep up with him. How was the legs/ body the day after?? I went up Rhyd Ddu Snowdon route as well on saturday and saw a lot of the competitors on their way down when I was going up. Well done!

Thanks everyone - It was a tough race but very enjoyable with a hugely supportive group of competitors. It was an inspiratioin to see one guy who was tetraplegic himself complete part of the course. He managed to get himself around a 20 mile section of the cycling event on an adapted cycle using only his shoulders. He and his team then managed to pedal, carry and lift themselves up Snowdon on another adapted chair and he then managed a section of the canoeing course. Puts it all in perspective and reinforces the value of this charity. Many thanks for all your support.

If not them I'm sure Gizmo's your best bet.
Why not do it together?
Have you a "Good Cause" in mind?

Siw - Not sure I'm fit for this at the moment but with enough training time then why not. Thing is the 15 peaks itself as a challenge has been done to death. I've had an idea for a fundraising challenge for a while, it includes the 15 peaks and I even have a name for it, 'Cestyll, mor a mynydd' (probably over two days). I will get in touch with you by the end of the week with some ideas if you're interested. In the meantime try and figure it out. Gwyn - diolch yn fawr.
