Start by deleteing all cookies and history.
Download Spyware Dr and scan.

Use Avast and do a full scan of your disks and tell it to clean/quarantine any infections it finds... if you still keep getting the alerts makea note of the exact messages from Avast and post back... Jim

I'm no expert but I've gone through this problem due to s(nameless)downloading all sorts of rubbish, if you like, I can come round. The last time it happened to me, norton were useless and tried to sell me a professional online clean, so I went through the forum threads, got rid of norton etc and took the good advice, I did have to do revert to a previos safe state though due to altered file registries.

Malwarebytes tool is usually pretty good - and onec you think yourr "clean" it's a good idea to run acouple of deicated rootkit scanners as well to check the hidden file streams - Microsoft have a free one and there's Blacklight from F-secure too.... Jim

Arwel, had a similar problem, used Avast and Spyware Dr. Avast kept coming up to block something everytime I loggod on, I cleared my Cache/history and cookies and it went. Ran spyware Dr to clean and have installed Malwarebytes as jimmy sugests, all are working nicely together with no slowing of my PC. I get them to do a scan at around 10ish at night so that I'm not actively on, just on and off and it's OK.
Have you tried booting up in safemode? try that and run the avast, works better for some.
