Lord Huw of Glynllifon
« on: August 04, 2010, 08:36:45 PM »
Just like to thank Huw for one of the best, most interesting, most enjoyable, most informative afternoons I have EVER had.
Huw took myself and Mrs Moley on a guided tour of his estate. WOW, was I impressed. We drove around in Huw's Landrover and he told us all the history and showed us all the sights.
I have previously been on a REAL safari in Kenya in the Masai Mara, and Huw's tour was just as good. "Huw..perhaps a change of career for you? Taking tourists around your stately Home?"

Then we got to the I.T. bit...WOW. What a Setup Huw Has. MEGA.. This bloke has set up this FANTASTIC system for this place.

Mrs Moley is now thinking that IF she can re-educate the NHS , this country could save BILLIONS.

Pleasure Moley. Bouncing around country estates in a Landy is always fun :-) :-) :-)

Glad you liked the IT bit too - though I never know how to explain virtualisation to anyone. It's IT black magic

*Note to Jim* Glynllifon is where I'm based. It used to be a grand country estate owned to Lord Newborough, but is now largely owned by the college for which I work. The college 'owns' something like 750 acres of agricultural land, forestry, open park land, three farms, a saw-mill, a fort and an armoury within the estate walls. The rest - the mansion, works yard, walled gardens, arboretum etc. - is owned by local government and a couple from India. As work places go it's pretty hard to beat.

Hi Jimmy...
To try and let you get this into perceptive as to where Huw has landed himself.

IMAGINE that somewhere like Longleat Safari park is not only a safari park/Zoo/Stately home but also an University. (Sorta like Herriot Watt with animals)
Huw landed the job doing all the I.T. and has a Landrover to get from site to site.
And when the students are on Summer Holiday...
He just becomes the Lord of the Manor.

Huw i am so impressed with your house, and to be honest and truthful I did not realise that you must be of Royal Welsh dissent!! And to think I was trying my best to knock your block off in training on Thursday night. Your lordship I must apologise.

Your loyal servant Tim.
