Apres Grading
« on: November 02, 2011, 08:37:30 AM »
As you all know Eryl has been working in Glasgow since the beginning of July. He has missed out on just about everything since. He works 7am to 7pm every day and then has something to eat on his own and goes to bed in the B&B.
He comes home Friday night arriving home about 9pm. After recovering on the Saturday and spending some time with his kids, he has to go to bed Sunday afternoon as he needs to be up at 3am Monday morning to drive back to Glasgow. He misses everybody very much and is very lonely. It looks like he is up there for another month at least and then who knows where he'll be sent. He is also very disappointed that he will miss the Friday night training with Sensei once again.
He has asked if we are going out somewhere for the "Apres Grading" so that he can have a nice chat with everybody and catch up with you all. He said a nice chat in a quiet (ish) pub would be "just the job"

Any suggestions?

Hi Shari,
You know that I'm NOT interested in the latest fashions and what young ladies wear (or not) these days.
But we know that some of our members (Eryl included) are dedicated followers of fashion and carefully study the latest trends that young ladies wear around Bangor.

I agree with you that a quiet pub is better, but what would the others.. Lloydie, Eryl, Huw etc do for "entertainment" ?

How about Siw asks Eryl where he want's to go?  I know she has his Mobile number and is in contact with him.

I don't mind where we go, as long as we're not walking around much,my shoes aren't going to be appropriate for that type of thing

I think we should ask Eryl though, just incase he has any other ideas, but the window seat in the fat cat will probably suit him fine

The more you sweat in training the less you bleed in battle,a fool says I can't, a wise man says I'll try.

I'll go down there this weekend and book a big table, just like I used to do in the good old days!!

Food is available, but I can't comment on quality - haven't eaten there for ages. Used to be pretty good though.

I'm sure I could be persuaded, although it did take me two days to recover last time.

I know that Eryl is quite happy with the views from the fat cat, and after 9 it gets quiet, I went there last month on a saturday with work colleagues, started in the witherspoons for cheap food and booze and then fat cat after 8.30. It was quiet there and very easy to have a conversation.
Telling a man to go to hell and making him do it are two different propositions.

Eat before is the general idea I think.
