Anyone got a Grading Syllabus Book Handy ?

Folks - out of idle curiosity I was having a look through the the Sandan to Yondan Grading syllabus - online PDF version - and wondered if someone could do me a favour and actually compare it to what's printed in the Grading Syllabus book ?

Hi Jim,

I just checked against a Handbook I have here.

It's identical to our link :   http://www.karatesyllabus.co.uk/

The handbook is A4 size and titled:

            Europen Shotokan Institute

                United Kingdom
          Traditional Karate Federation

                EXAM PROGRAMME

         TRADITIONAL SHOTOKAN STYLE


If you are talking about those little small syllabus books, I haven't seen one of those in years. Sensei couldn't see the small print in those anyway.

Cheers Moley - managhedv to check with one of our books as well and it's the same :)

It was Item 6 that was making me a little supicious as it looked as if it maybe should have had a Gyakuzuki following the Oitsuki on the second alternatice combination - like the first combination - if that makes sense ?

Yes... I see what you mean..  The alternative should finish with Guaku Tsuki like the first choice.

It's probably a mistake on the printed syllabus which I copied for the website.

I sus[ect that you're right - it's an original typo - but watched the Yondan gradings the year Alun got his 5th and the "abbreviated" combo has obviously now become the actual combo as it's what John E read out LOL
