My Sword
« on: July 23, 2005, 09:12:25 PM »
O.K. Seki.
Moley has prattled on long enough about his swords.

Here is your chance to talk and enlighten us about the Swords in your life.
Descriptions ? How you got them? How you feel about them ? What you do with them ? etc etc.
Ambitions ? Which sword would you like to own ?

C'mon - Share with us !
Remember, all Swords are female and should be given female names..This is a Celtic tradition.
I am in the process of writing a cynghanedd for one of my swords.
Cynganeddion are not so easy are they ?
There's a beauty about "Caledfwlch" - Arthur's Sword.
Cryf oedd calon hen y glas glogwyni,
Cryfach oedd ei ebill ef a'i ddur,
Chwyddodd gyfoeth gwr yr aur a'r faenol,
O'i enillion prin a'i amal gur.

Picked up a new one yesturday, I'll post a pic up on myspace when I get time.

A high quality showa-to (oil tempered blade)
A shin gunto army officers sword in mint condition made by Kojima Katsumasa, Seki city, Noshu province circa 1940-44.

Looks nice by the Koa Isshin Mantetsu (on myspace) and the Paul Chen.

DO'NT BUY ANYTHING OFF e-bay..............

I was talking to a dealer who had been approached at an arms fair by a fella who had spent £25000 (yes, I know) on a collection of swords as an investment and wanted a price, guess what..........yep, got them off e-bay, worth £$%& all to the dealer...................the fella was not a happy bunny when he was told they were not the real deal.

A lesson to be learnt here..............

If you've got the cash and want a sword...............

see Moley.
