A fantastic performance by all.  Every Seki came back with a medal, and we don't train for competition.  Shows the real quality of our Kyu grades and the strength of the club, I think.

well done peeps, Proud of ya!  =D> =D> =D>

Awesome performances all round. For my money I have to say:

Rhys: Nervous start but kept it all together for the team kata. Superb "under pressure" performance in the team kata. Next year ... :-)

GyuB: Excelent defencive work in the kumite. Picked off all comers from a solid foundation to get the gold. Two bronzes as well ... sterling performace.

Angie: The smiling assassin stikes again!! Supreme Grand Champion of the "under brown belt" category. Soon to be known as "Cruffts" ;)

Shane: I hate you sooooo much for going one better then me in the brown belt class. GIT  :D I hope "action man" looks good on your mantle piece  8)

Sakura
Bryan (with a y) and Barry (Hightower) also put in classy performances. Bryan's kata was great but got some strange marks. I'm particularly  gutted for Manon. I have absolutely NO IDEA why she didn't get the kata gold. I watched her and the eventual winner and lil' Manon was miles better! Kata -  WTF?

... more on kata tomorrow.

Rhys had some real bad luck in the draw for kumite partners; his very first bout was againsed the eventual silver medallist. Considering some (much worse) fighters got straight through to the semi's on a 'bye'.. hmmm

Dunno how I did so well in the kumite.. a bit of luck probably helped - nearly got swamped a few times by more agressive fighters, but just managed to land a tzuki or two where it mattered I guess.

Ange was just plain faster and better than the opposition. She won quick and clean nearly every time. No messing about.. quite scary actually.

Shanes 'winning blow' (a superb chudan yoko geri kekomi - completely sans control - againsed a rather slight young opponent) in the heats is going to be imprinted on my brain for a long time.. it was PUNISHING!!

I dunno how that lad sleeps at night..

Mind you he DID get a toy.. grr!!

Guy, Shane and Angie - great performances, I was very impressed.

I never knew I could get that nervous!!   #-o  Never been like that before!

Soooo pi$$d with myself after my first bout, not because I lost, but because of my crappy techniques/performance :x :x   :-({|=

Shane getting the halls attention by knocking down Angie's ashtrays not once but twice cheered me up though!!

Definitely up for next year.
