This morning I was dragged kicking and screaming to chapel. The only good thing about chapel is that you get some time to think whilst the old guy at the front moiders on about the same thing he's been going on about for years.

Anyway, what poped into my head was this - how about a Seki 'Kata Day'.  Book a suitable space (the dojo would be ideal) on a Saturday afternoon between say 1 and 5 PM. The whole time would be dedicated to learning, improving, perfecting kata. Make it an informal(ish) session and people could come and go as they liked - 4 hours is a pretty long session.

Finish they day off with a social at the Jade Village. Sounds good to me  8)  8)  8)

Any comments ?

Azzy,

I'm up for it - not sure about the four hours though. It's unlikely that we would get the JJB room.

'Mirrors' Dave,
Is this some sort of fetish of yours?
Like to see yourself sweat?
Or is it that you have caught the virus that's currently going round, the 'deadly WESfluenca', symptoms are:

You like to check out your appearance regularly (every 5min) in the mirror.
You have visions of yourself mobed by crazy young girls after your athletically toned body.
You end every sentance with 'baby'.
You develop lightening reflexes such as the fingers in the throat technique.

A friend is somebody you can call to help you move, a good friend is somebody you can call to help you move a body.

Hmm,
Would you like to talk about it?
Been seeing Wes on a more 'profesional' basis have we?
Lloydie is also available for 'private' sessions (when not looking in the mirror).

Moley will book the dojo and arrange training times etc.

Do you want a 10 am - 1:00pm session or a 1:00pm - 4pm session ?

This time someone else will have to book a DIFFERENT place to go for a meal afterwards around 7:30pm (I suggest Little h and Jewels so that we can see what their idea of good food is ! )

No Moley the Jade was fine.
Jewels ate loads and I just chose badly. Every one had a really good time there and the service was great.  I would insist that the bill be divided up a bit more evenly next time as I'm sure someone subsidised some of us quite heavily (unless it came out of club funds).

Me again.
I'm with Dave on the large JJB studio with mirrors. It is fantastic for checking your POSURE and STANCE in katas. It now has a sand-filled punch man to practice punches and kicks on as well. I often go in there to practise between classes and they're pretty cool about it. But i suspect Gizmo is right as to availablity as they have classes fairly frequently and Carol plans to book more as of next month.
