Hangetsu
« on: November 15, 2006, 09:40:02 PM »
HEy lads,
I asked my trainers to teach hangetsu ... to let it come back into the mind of the people ... and some questions appeared.
1st question: The stance ... how do you teach it ... where i train here is said the legs are guided by the feet ... and the knees are pusing outside a little ... to have a more natural stance and don't ruin your knees.
2nd question: The 1st 3 double movements ... uchi uke and gyaku tsuki.
Do you let your trainees move the hip when you fight the kata ?
Will ask more questions tomorrow.

The stance -

Feet together
Move toes 45 deg apart keep heels where they are
Then move Heels 45deg to toes position
Move right foot forward so heel is in spot where toe was
Tip front of groin up
Tense buttocks

Cryf oedd calon hen y glas glogwyni,
Cryfach oedd ei ebill ef a'i ddur,
Chwyddodd gyfoeth gwr yr aur a'r faenol,
O'i enillion prin a'i amal gur.

Tipped upwards to protect groin from back..

They will be in hanmi naturally as you have just moved right leg heel forward to where toes were
