I confess.. I have a Wii.. for erm.. work reasons.. evaluation of cutting edge vizualisation technology and all that.. jolly good fun it is too.. definately great for non nerdy types who like a good laugh.

I was just about to say I'd not done anything stupid with the thing.. but Tabitha has just shown me a nasty bruise on her knee I apparently gave her whilst we were playing 'tennis' on the damn thing!

Julian,

Your girls are only 4..........................

I could not even convince Mrs MB that an X box would be great for the eldest who's 7 :(

Don't forget the X-Box.. they are brutally powerful (I got me one of them too!!).. and have vastly superior on-line and multimedia capabilities.. You can even download TV shows and movies on them now. The realism of the graphics are outstanding.. and if you like violent shooting/fighting games, there are some really good ones out there now..

But If you're looking for all round family fun, I agree the wii is the better choice.. its aimed squarely at the 'non gaming' market.. If you're an adolescent male with a thirst for blood and naked flesh however, the X-box is a must!! (personally I think any serious gamer will probably get both)

at least people get more of a work out than just using thumbs and fingers. Is it the beginning of getting people more active. ive heard that with some games you really have to jump about and do proper punching moves etc?  :D
