Aaron Justice a guy from the states (I bought a Tonbo Tsuba from him once to finish a Tonbo themed Shinken I was building) has commissioned the piece from Walter Sorrell.

Here's the Clay coating that produced the "Mt Fuji" hamon:

Yeah moley any info on it? My dad's got a massive forge at home and ive been harping on at him for ages about making a sword, or a smaller blade. I know it's a very long and complicated process but still worth a go!!

From the fires of snowdonia we could forge the mighty Seki sword!!! lol

Oh shit. Another 'tooled up' nutter. As if we didn't have enough already. Alex must have been expecting some bother Thursday night. His bag contained nun chucks, mini three-part-staff and a pair of sai     Menai Bridge must be tougher than I thought ;-)

Actually Liam, with modern steels and barstock etc, the forging is the relatively "easy" part.
It's the polishing afterwards that is VERY difficult.

I really fancy giving this a go, i mean where better to be than in front of a great raging forge during these bitter cold winter months?

I'm in on it too... I have ideas..

We could try the Brunswick ironworks in Caernarfon.

We'd need something like 1080 or 1060 steel bars in approx the same length and slightly thicker than the sword.
