A walk after Christmas - "the pud buster"
« on: November 13, 2007, 08:33:01 AM »
Shall we have another Christmas sponsored walk - this time in aid of Hospice at Home?

Saturday the 29th looks like a reasonable day to do it on.

 :D Put me down again,
:D twice we have walked from Portdinorwig to Cearnarfon Castle and back, always just after xmas, first year freezing cold but lovely,  last year, thunder, lighting, hail, rain and cold but a lot of fun.
Keep Smiling....

As Shari said we've done Felinheli to Caernarfon and back three times now. Does anyone want to suggest a different route? 8 to10 miles seems about right and finishing close to a decent pub is essential!

Start off from Moley's house....
park and kit up.
Up and over Clegir... see the views...see where the cartwheel landed after the horse and cart full of gelignite exploded at Penllyn.  over to Llanberis... Picnic by the lake... Cycle track to Penllyn.... Back via Brynrefail / Penisarwaen/ stabla to Moley's house.

Relax and have hot sake before we have a cool beer ?

I split off the "Get at Azzy" off topic discussions and sent it to the Chat.

Here's some missing bits that went with the split but are relevant to this thread. :

Count me in as well.

Back to the subject ... Any alternative ideas for the walk?

Please bear in mind that there could be a crowd of people. On the second year of the walk we had around 25 walkers (arriving in 15ish cars).

OK here's an alternative. Meet in the Beach Road car park in Bangor and walk up Lon Las Ogwen up to Tregarth and back. When we return we could retire to The Nelson on Beach Road for refreshment.
